Good rules for
traveling: Avoid expensive jewelry or fine clothing. After putting out everything you want to take, leave
half of it at home. For backpackers, about 75% of it, and then
think, am I actually going to use this? Never take anything that
you can't replace. Never keep all your cash or credit cards in one place. Make
copies of your passport and other documents plus scan them in and send them to
an email address that you can access anywhere.
